2023 Best Overall Bilingual Book- American Sign Language (ASL)

After applying and becoming a finalist, Shay Abigail won "Best Overall Bilingual Book". Her book, My Name is Maya, highlights a little girl who is deaf and uses American Sign Language. This award shines a light on the importance of language access for the deaf community and increased awareness for non-speaking communication.
